Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a diverse ethnic background. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez comes from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. She has two younger brothers and one older sister. Because of the turmoil in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s. Schooling was finished in Bahrain and she was awarded a Scholarship to at the University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. To enhance her love of different cultures, languages and languages, she joined the Berlitz language schools where she was able to learn Spanish in addition to improving French as well as Arabic. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th, 2006 and also participated in Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work as a TV host. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. When she was a teenager she played in national level badminton events, but she backed off the sport to become an artist. Padukone was born in Mangalore in India. Her mother tongue Konkani is where she comes from. Padukone is a village within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone's father is an international champion in badminton who is retired. Her mom is a traveling agent.
